Paul's family exhibited Cocker Spaniels for many years and following a brief stint in the late 1970's and early 1980's showing and breeding both Cocker Spaniels followed by Rottweilers (left) he decided to look for something different to show. In 1985 he made contact with Marcelle King (Belamba) having seen photos of Tervueren. Marcelle became the first of many people who were to give their invaluable help and advice over the years.

A daughter of Ch Belamba Barley Wine 'Dancer' was a sweet natured bitch of the old type, who was looking for a new home at 12 months as her owner was returning to the USA. Dancer quickly made a huge impact on the family and all who came in contact with her and very quickly helped to establish this variety in the Irish show ring where she had much success being appreciated by the All Round Judges for her movement and ring presence.

Dancer" was very quickly followed by two more Tervueren, a male Ch Belamba Harvey Wallbanger, (left) a Bacchus son and also IR & GB CH Belamba Irish Coffee (right) a Bandol daughter. "Harvey Wallbanger", a wonderful Ambassador for the breed in the early days in Ireland won numerous Working Groups, a Reserve Best in Show at an all Breed Championship Show and also a Reserve CC in the UK, before his sudden unexpected death while still in his prime. "Irish Coffee" was a very feminine bitch born in 1987, she was to be the first Belgian Shepherd to gain her titles on both sides of the Irish Sea and gave us the enthusiasm to compete extensively in the UK.

In late 1989 Paul met Jean who experienced her first dog show a few weeks later (left) when she handled 'Harvey Wallbanger' winning the Major Green Star & BOB with him at the Irish Kennel Club St. Patrick's Show. From then on she was thoroughly hooked and so we decided to expand into another variety. We married in September, 1989 and a few weeks later acquired our first Groenendael, a beautiful bitch puppy IR & GB CH Vanistica Giorgio (right) a daughter of Ch Bergerac Love Kills, from Paul and Lorna England (Vanistica). We decided to 'go for it' and campaign the dogs in the UK.

Our first CC came at SKC in May 1990 with 'Irish Coffee' and on the same day 'Giorgio' won the first day of the Puppy Stakes and finished 2nd overall. It was to be the start of an immensely enjoyable experience over the next 15 years, with many highs and lows, successes, disappointments & heartache, a lot of expense but with many good friends made along the way. 'Irish Coffee' and 'Giorgio' very quickly became Irish and GB Champions, 'Giorgio's' typical sound movement being her trade- mark. She was also an Irish Pup of the Year Qualifier.

By this time we had bred our first Tervueren litter, 'Northern Dancer' mated to Harvey Wallbanger', producing the 'A' litter of which there were numerous Green Star winners. Revloch Amaranth went to Debbie Fleming of Ailort in Scotland where she won two Reserve CC's and when mated to the Groenendael Leircote Agnar produced GB CH Ailort Black Adder, who in turn is the sire of GB CH Ailort Dark Adder and his sister GB CH Ailort Dorothea. For DANCER'S next litter we took her to GB CH Norrevang Bacchus of Belamba and got two puppies, one of which was made up in Ireland CH Revloch Bella Donna (right)

Bacchus was a dog which we had always admired for his temperament and style and so when the opportunity arose in 1990 to acquire a young grey daughter of his from Yvonne Lyon's 'Alcyon' kennel we jumped at it. IR & GB CH Alcyon Reuilly Rose (left) was a striking grey bitch with a very laid back sweet temperament and very quickly qualified for the Irish Pup of the Year, won Best Puppy in Breed at Working Breeds of Wales on her debut in the UK and went on to gain both her Irish and GB Titles.

Also in 1990 there were some more additions to the family, one planned and one unexpected. We acquired a second Groenendael from Paul and Lorna England, a male this time IR & GB CH Vanistica Parisien Moon (right). 'Flynn' was an upstanding male with a fantastic temperament and would become a prolific winner for us in both countries, winning many Working Groups in Ireland, gaining both IR & GB titles and winning Best in Show at NORBEL in 1995.

GIORGIO's litter sister was coming over to Ireland to Jean's uncle, travelling with 'Parisien Moon' when he came to us at 9 weeks. CH Vanistica Obsession (right) was 9 months old at that stage and was staying with us for the weekend until Jean's uncle was ready to collect her. However, after just two days with us we knew we had found a 'dog in a million'. While she may not have had her sister's style and prettiness she had a unique character and quite literally beame our 'eldest child'. We persuaded Jean's uncle to let her stay with us and we had 14 wonderful years with her until she passed away in August, 2003. She was adored by our two kids Kelly & Stephen, being like a 'nana' to them. She made an impact on everyone who knew her, appeared on Live TV with her first litter and didn't do badly in the ring either, gaining her Irish Title finishing Top Groenendael in 1994

Parisien Moon was mated to both 'Giorgio' and 'Obsession'. The 'C' litter to Obsession born in August, 1991 produced GB CH Vanistica Revloch Chimney Sweep (left) who went back to the England's as a puppy. He sired many GB Champions including Ch Vanistica Cornish Affair, who in turn has produced numerous Champion for Vanistica. The 'C' litter also produced Revloch Cool Hand Luke, an Irish Pup of the Year 1992 qualifier. A repeat of this mating in October, 1992 produced Revloch Eastern Pharo, who at his only show in the UK won a large Junior Class at Crufts.

It was around this time that we brought in a young Tervueren male from Vic & Lynn Salt (Woodlyn) who were to become firm friends and a great source of knowledge and information over the years. He was Burnish Bronze of Woodlyn, a Lance Van de Hoge Laer son out of GB CH Woodlyn Fascination. He won the Res CC at the BSDA Club show at 9 months of age and when mated to 'Belamba Irish Coffee' produced the 'D' litter in July, 1992. On this litter were Major Green Star winners including Revloch Dig Dis who at his only UK show won Best Puppy in Breed at SKC in May '93 and his brother Revloch Desperate Dan a BOB winner at the Irish Club Show in '94. A mating between 'Dig Dis' and 'Alcyon Reuilly Rose in 1993, the 'F' litter, produced CH Revloch First Option (right) ,Top BSD in Ireland 1995.

An impulse saw the arrival in 1995 of a Malinois in the shape of CH Lanaeken Savoire Faire (right) a puppy bitch born in quarantine from Belgium. She won numerous Best Puppy & Diploma of Merit Awards in the UK, culminating in a CC win at Blackpool in 1996, a history making weekend for the variety as the day before at NORBEL another Malinois bitch had become the first Malinois bitch to win a CC. She gained her Irish title but it was to be a few years before she was mated.

Towards the end of 1995 we enquired from Vic and Lyn Salt (Woodlyn) about a litter which they had recently bred, sired by their French import Groenendael Grandee De La Douce Plaine out of his kennel mate Goya De La Douce Plaine. They had two male puppies but the pick of the two was promised to somebody else. One pup was described as a big boy with a big coat and we kept our fingers crossed that he would not be the first choice of the other people. A couple of days later we heard they had picked the other one and the following week we collected 16 week old IR & GB CH Woodlyn Black Jack at Revloch (below right). The rest, as they say, is history and over the next few years saw we embarked on a wonderful experience with many happy memories with this beautiful boy.

Black Jack grew up to be an extremely handsome male with the most beautiful eye and expression. A dog who carries a big coat and mane, he still oozes style and glamour even in his veteran years. He won his first Major Green star at his debut show at the IKC Show in March, 1996 at 9 months. At Crufts 1997 he won the Res CC & Diploma of Merit from Special Yearling. This was to be the start of a specatucular show career in the UK, competing against the other varieties for much of it. His first CC was won at Working Breeds of Wales in '97 under the late Di Atkinson and he added 19 more CC's, 8 Reserve CC's; 4 CACIB's and countless Diploma of Merits over the next 5 years. He is Ireland's Top Winning Groenendael all time, with multiple Group wins. Top Groenendael male UK 1997; Joint Top Groenendael 1999; Top Groenendael 1998, 2000 & 2001; BOB Crufts 2000; CC & BOB NORBEL 2001 and Best in Show at BSDA 2001. He has gained a worldwide fan base and is now enjoying his retirement, having handed over the reins to his offspring who are continuing his success although he did take Top Honours at the 2004 BSD Club of Ireland breed show winning Best in Show!!

Our next Tervueren litter was in March 1996 a mating from 'Alcyon Reuilly Rose' to GB CH Bergerac Intermezzo of Zantal. Unfortunately there were complications resulting in a caesarean and the near loss of both the bitch and the sole puppy born, but luckily both survived and the puppy CH.Revloch Incognito (left) grew up to be a slow maturing dog with a very exhuberant and outgoing temperament, the exact opposite to his laid back mother. He was shown rarely in the UK as we were concentrating on BLACK JACK but won 2 CC's and a Reserve CC. He has won 4 CACIB's and Res Best in Show at the IKC St. Patrick's Show 2000 plus many Working Groups in Ireland.

Late in 1996 we bought a Tervueren bitch puppy CH Monamour French Connection at Revloch a combination of GB CH Domburg Melodie D'Amour with Monamour and Talamo Vedette at Monamour. She was Top Tervueren Bitch in Ireland '97 and an Irish Pup of the Year Qualifier finishing 4th overall on the night. She had two litters. The first to "Incognito" born December '98. Out of this litter came Revloch Lady Luck of Huron who in turn was mated to a young dog we brought in from Mandy McLaren in 2001 Corsini Sign of the Times at Revloch producing Huron Al Pacino at Revloch (right).

Unfortunately, after 20 years breeding, we have experienced a problem with epilepsy effecting some dogs in the N and P litters. We are not afraid to say that we have the problem and are happy to discuss this health issue freely with breeders who are also willing to discuss it honestly and without prejudice. We hope breeders will always have the courage to reveal any health issues which may be in their lines which will help other breeders and that they will also use any information that they receive about another breeder's lines positively and not as a means to bash their reputation. Human nature dictates that personal dislikes of other breeders is all too frequent in a hobby that has it's share of back-biting and bad sportsmanship, but we all have one thing in common, that is to breed beautiful, healthy dogs and a little information can go a long way in achieving this. We have always tried to treat our puppy buyers as we would like to be treated. We also hope that our puppy buyers will always appreciate our help and advice as we in turn appreciate the help and advice that we have received from many breeders over the years.

Another Tervueren arrived in May 2001 when we imported a Milton daughter from Willemine Van Deijl of Di Scottatura in Holland. This was CH Zayra Di Scottatura at Revloch An Ch -04; CW-06 (left) , a petite bitch with a sweet temperament who produced a litter for us in May, 2003 to CH Revloch Incognito. CH Revloch Ready to Rumble at Nulikim(below right) competes successfully in Agility while CH Revloch Ready Teddy Go to Whitandon (below centre) was Top Tervueren Male 2004 and is the first Belgian Shepherd to win a Pastoral Group since the breed moved from the Working Group in January 2004. Revloch Rambling Rose (below right) went to Kennel Woodshine in Norway and has to date won two CAC's & BOB at 10 months of age. 'Zayra' herself has been lightly shown but won Reserve Best in Show at the Irish Club show in 2002 and a Reserve CC in the UK.

In December 2001 we bred our first Malinois litter, a successful mating between CH Lanaeken Savoire Faire and Bonvivant Cause Celebre at Tiggertoo. This produced Nor & Dan CH Revloch O'Baoill (left) who went to Irene Boerresen (Shirocky) in Norway. She has to date won numerous CAC's in Norway, Denmark and Germany all as a Puppy or Junior as well as CACIB's in Ireland and Holland. She was the Top Malinois in Denmark in 2003 and Top Malinois in Norway 2005. She also has the titles Norwegian Winner 05, Dutch Winner 05 and Celtic Winner 06. We are delighted to have her back for a stay in Ireland to be campaigned during 1996 both here and in the UK where the variety have CC's for the first time. She has clocked up a Reserve CC to date.

He is one of the first Malinois to win a CC since they were granted his win coming early in 2006 at Birmingham National. A repeat of this litter in January, 2003 unfortunately produced only one female pup Revloch Quest for Fame (right) but at her debut show at the back to back Club Shows in August 2003 she won Best Malinois Puppy at NORBEL and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at the BSDA.

In March 2005 we celebrated the arrival of our Belgian Import the Groenendael CH Diego du Pre du Vieux Pont CW'06, (left) a grandson of both Multi Champion Milan and Multi Champion Boetsch. He is a very elegant dog of excellent type and super temperament who should be of benefit to the gene pool. He has won Best Puppy awards in Holland, Belgium, France and Ireland, Reserve CAC at the Dutch Winner Show in Dec '05, CC & BOB at the UK LKA Show a week later, Reserve CC at Crufts and CACIB, Best of Breed, Pastoral Group and Celtic Winner Show at the IKC International Show in March.

A Tervueren litter born in January 2005 produced just three puppies, two of which have been shown with fantastic success. Zayra was mated with Revloch Jumanji a Tervueren son of 'Black Jack' and at just eight months old CH Revloch Unique Junior Celtic Winner '06 (left) is the youngest Belgian Shepherd to gain the Irish Champion title and also qualified from an entry of 85 puppies to compete at the Pup of the Year Final in 2005. She is also Junior Celtic Winner '06 at the IKC International Show and has won a 2 CACIB's plus. Her brother Revloch Undercover at Belshrose (top right) was Top Tervueren Puppy in the UK in 2005 and a Puppy Stakes winner.
For Zayra's third litter we mated her to a young dog Corsini Don Giovani at Protegimus, puppies were born on 26th April, 2006 and will make their debut later in the year. These puppies should be of excellent in type and temperament.

Our latest addition in late September, 2005 is a groenendael female Xanova Magique Noir avec Revloch (above right) who is a daughter of top producer Jason de la Douce Plaine. Her grandfather is the outstanding SR FR CH Rival de la Fureur du Crepuscule. Voodoo has made a fantastic debut winning Green Stars at all of her first five shows and also a Pastoral Group 2 and Puppy Pastoral Group 2 and 4.
We are always willing to listen and learn from our peers and will always be thankful to those who have given us their knowledge, advice and friendship. We have discovered that showing dogs is the easy part, breeding them more difficult but both needing a large amount of luck, effort and perseverance. Each of the dogs we have imported have played an important part in where we are today and we know we are fortunate to have had the opportunity of owning and enjoying them, whether they have been top winners or not, we will always be grateful to those people who entrusted them to us.
With the opening up of the Pet Passport Scheme we are looking forward to the future when we hope to travel to the continent to show our dogs more often and also to avail of new bloodlines.
We have also been fortunate to judge the breed in Ireland, England, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Canada, Sweden and Denmark. If we can still maintain the same success and enjoyment of our dogs and also the friendships that we have made over the last 20 years, than all the heartache, disappointments and hard work that showing and breeding dogs can also involve, and which many people don't realise or appreciate, will have been worth it.
